Brighton Marathon will not have a major sponsor

Jan 15

Organisers of the Brighton Marathon have revealed there will be no major title sponsor for this year’s race.

The team behind the event had been hoping a big name would come forward but despite their efforts, they have not been successful.

However race organiser Tim Hutchings said there was still a huge amount of support and sponsorship from companies and businesses to ensure the event on April 10 is a major success.

He said: “I think it is probably down to the economic climate at the moment which has made things a bit difficult to find someone for this April.

“However our other sponsors are staying with us and we are still going to be putting on a great event.

“We are always open to all enquiries and always ready to listen to any potential supporters and sponsors.

“I am hopeful that there will be a good chance of getting someone for 2012, as it is an Olympic year and big sporting events are going to be in the headlines.”
