Clean Your Budget to Find Hidden Cash
Jan 31

Have you gone through your dirty clothing while doing the laundry, tucked your hand into a pocket, and discovered a crumpled up bill? If so, then you know how delightful such a discovery can be. I have a friend who purposefully does this, actually. He’ll hide a bill somewhere, just so he can find it a few weeks later. I think he’s a little bit crazy, certainly, but there is something to be said about the quick rush finding money brings us.

So, what if you applied that same concept to your daily financial situation? How would you feel if you knew you could find money in the forgotten nooks and crannies of your budget? You’d get right down to searching, wouldn’t you? Let’s give it a try.

Financial Goals

Your first task when cleaning out your budget is to make a list of short term and long term financial goals. These can

5 Advantages of Virtual Trade Shows
Jan 28

In a recent post, we discussed your options and strategies for your business to attend trade shows in 2011. Trade shows can have enormous paybacks for your company by making the right contacts, finding new market segments, and simply selling more products. However, attending and displaying at a trade show can be expensive. Why not consider virtual trade shows in 2011?

Here are five good reasons why virtual trade shows may be your answer to save money on your marketing budget.

  1. Save money on exhibit displays

Creating professional exhibit material takes time and money. The best exhibits are created by professional designers. The cost of this service, plus the cost of materials, along the cost of transporting those materials (and the hefty fees the union workers at the convention center charge), are all eliminated through virtual trade shows.

Brighton Fringe bosses consider plans for Old Steine
Jan 27

An entertainment venue could return to one of Brighton and Hove’s most iconic outdoor sites after it remained empty during last year’s fringe festival.

Bosses of Brighton Festival Fringe are considering plans from a number of promoters to stage events on the Old Steine throughout May.

The prime site stood empty last year after the Parlure Spiegeltent announced it would not be returning to the festival, blaming financial issues after making a loss at the event in 2008 and 2009.

However fringe staff are now looking at a number of proposals for the site before they approach Brighton and Hove City Council for approval.

An idea is also being considered for The Level.

But no plans have yet been submitted for the St Peter’s Church site.

However organisers say it is still not too late for ideas to be put forward.

Why Staying Organized Saves You Money
Jan 25

Just recently I had a flat tire, and needed the spare one, so I popped the trunk and went dizzy! Where the heck did all this stuff come from? I ended up getting the car towed to the garage to get the tire changed. What should have been a simple, free, do-it-yourself tire change ended up costing me. I had to pay not only for the tow truck but for the mechanic’s service as well. Hard earned cash down the drain! Luckily for me, my friends organized a sort of intervention, where they sat me down and literally forced me to get myself organized! After a neck straining day of filing, boxing and labelling, I managed to clear out the boot. I had several surprises when I found things that I thought I had lost, and had replaced (kicked myself for spending my cash when it was in my boot all along). A
